Glock 19x Review 2021 - How about looking at a GLOCK is like trying to look into the air. We all breathe regularly and always. It's something we all appreciate because it's not for us. Now, I'm not saying GLOCKs should last a lifetime, but the new 19X is definitely a breath of fresh air.
First, it's helpful to understand what the GLOCK 19X is and isn't. It's basically a G19 slide in a G17 frame. But when it was published earlier this year, something interesting happened.

I have seen pictures of the original rifle submitted to the Army Modular Rifle System competition. I thought the GLOCK entry was pretty cool and far from what they had to offer. I naturally wanted to get my hands on it and figured they would eventually offer a version to the general public. I wasn't wrong.

Was the military wrong to choose the P320 as their new service rifle? Some people seem to think so, others don't. Surprisingly, the GLOCK variant, now known as the GLOCK 19X, did not receive a hero's welcome when it was released to the civilian market a few months ago.
I tuned out the negatives and decided to get my mitts on the 19X, mostly because it's a cool gun and offers some of the features I'd like to see in a full size gun. What surprises me is that the general internet population and others in the gun culture are not happy about this.
I thought it had 19X tons of potential, but my opinion seemed to fall on deaf ears. I have spoken with many friends and colleagues in my professional media circles who love the idea of releasing a military option to the public. What happened?

What I've found from talking to a lot of people is that with the 19X, consumers have taken out a GLOCK pistol that they don't need. They would see a G17 slide on a G19 frame. Or a G19 slide with a G26 frame. A shorter grip and longer aiming radius were better for concealed carry.
I don't agree with this concept because I like the short barrel and short grip, but that's just me. Regarding the 19X, I have heard over and over that GLOCK didn't listen to the users, but that is a lie. People wanted an MHS gun and now it's here. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If they hadn't released 19X, forums and comment sections would be crying about it.
So let's continue the review. In the weeks leading up to 19X I put less than 2,000 rounds. I don't know what some YouTube idiot did to this gun to make it stick (probably with some manufactured controversy to get more views on their videos) because this thing always looks like a GLOCK. . I had no problems to speak of in terms of reliability.
I shot everything from cheap ball to Lehigh Defense loads and experienced zero errors. When the gun first came out it was hit with a stop and I didn't see any of them. In fact, it was so reliable that my tests were boring.

I haven't cleaned the gun at all in 2,000 rounds. I didn't mess with the sights, change the trigger, or even bother taking it apart to wipe off the brass colored lube. I picked up the gun, took it to the range and started ringing the steel.
One of the features of the 19X is GLOCK's new Marksman Barrel. The barrel is made of a different gunmetal than that used in GLOCK's pistols. This reinforced polygon rifle is a real improvement over the old style, and I found the 19X to be incredibly accurate for a polymer frame rifle.
Part of that accuracy is also due to the 19X improved Gen5 trigger that GLOCKophiles love so much. GLOCK triggers have always been a weak point of pistols. Usable, but definitely nothing to write home about. They created a market for Ghost Triggers.
But with changes made to all areas of the GLOCK trigger assembly (trigger plate, piston, spring assembly and lock block), GLOCK's Gen5 trigger is a breath of fresh air and a huge improvement over previous models. They may not quite beat the Ghost Trigger, but they are a big step up from the old mushroom trigger that many shooters know and tolerate.

I have fired thousands of rounds through this gun, as I mentioned earlier, but I have not measured the chronograph or accuracy at all loads. The data here was recorded by my Oehler 35P chronograph at 55 degrees Celsius five meters from the muzzle. Accuracy is within inches at 25 yards, averaging four to five shot groups.
The barrel is a big improvement over the old options, at least for me. I have always found the barrel and accuracy to be something that could be improved with most GLOCK pistols I have owned in the past. This improved accuracy is a big plus because I don't have to hunt down the sights or wait for holes in my targets.
Moving on, the 19X's most notable features are its color scheme. The NPVD coated slide is the first stained glass offered by GLOCK from the factory. The finish held up very well and showed no signs of wear even though I used polymer holsters.
The frame has some things that are different from the Gen 5 pistol. The 19X is basically part of the Gen 5 family, but not a full member due to some differences in the frame. It doesn't have the flared magazine found on other Gen 5 rifles, but has a unique lanyard loop and pinky thumb rest, with your pinky on the front. In addition to these features, the handle has no finger grooves, which is an improvement in itself.

About this catch, it has been the subject of much debate. The full size fits my hands well and allows me to hold it easier than the standard G19. People like me with big hands get us caught in a lot of situations, but not here.
Another feature that I like best about this rifle is its night sights and double slide stop. Both come as standard and are very functional. An invisible feature inside a roller coaster. The gun has marine springs that allow water to drain around the discharge. It's a little extra, but for an outdoorsman like me, it gives peace of mind near rivers and open water.
Finally, the 19X comes with three magazines, one for 17 rounds and two for 19 rounds. I usually keep 17 rounds in the gun and have the rest ready for backup. I don't know many who will run the full 19+1 capacity, but go for it if you want.
The GLOCK 19X is a very durable, very reliable, accurate pistol that is somewhat unique on the market today. I hope GLOCK continues to push its design barriers and make guns like the 19X. I would love to see a 19 frame with a 26 barrel and slide. Despite the controversy surrounding 19X in recent months, there's a good chance that 19X will make you and your security very happy. There are no other rifles on the market that offer as many unique and functional features as the 19X. It may not be like your classic GLOCK, but it's a lot better.
Quick Review And Shooting The Glock 19x
It's still the most accurate GLOCK I've ever shot, and I've fired a lot of them. Marksman barrel is a big change.
While it's better than previous generations, it's still a GLOCK and I still don't like the rear stability adjustment system. Overall, in my large hands, it is a very comfortable gun to shoot and hold like a champ.
